Saudi Arabia (KSA) Calorie Labels on Menus

In Saudi Arabia, it is mandatory for restaurants and cafes to display calories for the food they serve.

This initiative was launched by the Saudi Food & Drug Authority in 2019 with the purpose of tackling rising obesity levels in the country.

The law applies to-

  1. Restaurants and cafes
  2. Ice cream parlours
  3. Juice and fresh fruit vendors
  4. Bakeries
  5. Sweets shops
  6. Cafeterias

Where should information be displayed?

Cash counters and desks, physical menus and menu boards, drive-thrus, phone and web applications.
