How many foods does Nutrical’s database have?

Our ingredient database contains over 40,000 and is primarily powered by USDA (US Department of Agriculture), NIN (National Institute of Nutrition), as well as other international databases that cater to the universal Arabic ingredients.

This applies to Arabic foodstuffs such as “Zaatar”, food brands such as “Al Marai”, food suppliers, and retail chains as we are GCC’s first solution for food data and intelligence.

How does NutriCal compare to a Food Lab?

There are two methods for one to extract nutrition facts, a food lab is a traditional approach where chemical analysis is performed in a lab. Food is physically given to the food lab and is tested for its nutritional value.

The process requires testing multiple times to obtain an average result of the same therefore it is not cost-effective as it costs approximately 500 to 800 SAR.

The Second type which is what we at NutriCal provide is a theoretical analysis, as it is done via taking data that have already been previously chemically tested, calculated, and scaled to those nutritional values to match the amount used in the final food product. The USDA as well as other databases worldwide have compiled the nutritional information in their database.

NutriCal in comparison to Food labs is more cost-effective, and has an accurate approach in regards to calculating nutritional facts.

How does NutriCal compare to Nutritionists?

Nutritionists manually calculate nutritional facts which may be time- consuming for establishments to acquire nutritional information, nowadays they also use software solutions like NutriCal to calculate nutritional facts.

With NutriCal you would be able to extract all information needed as efficiently and accurately, without being codependent on nutritionists.
